Moniga del Garda: wine and gastronomy on Lake Garda
Moniga del Garda is a small town situated in the heart of Valtenesi hills, between Desenzano and Salò. Nicknamed “Città del Chiaretto” from the name of the typical rosé wine that is produced in this area. It is one of the most renowned food and wine towns. During the years the town hosts several fairs and festivals such as the famous “Italia in rosa”. Noteworthy are the baroque church of St.Martin, which contains five altars and some painted altarpieces and a castle, built in the tenth century, which contains a small village.
Manerba del Garda
Moniga borders with Manerba del Garda and is also located in the hills of the Valtenesi. It has many farms where local wines and oils are produced and where tourists can fully satisfy their culinary cravings. Famous are the remains of the “Rocca di Manerba”, one of the most important medieval fortresses around the Lake Garda where you can enjoy a breathtaking view. interesting are also the archaeological museum and churches full of frescoes.
Salò: the “historical capital of Lake Garda”
On the West Coast, about 10 km from Moniga, we find the Pearl of the Lake, the town of Salò. Known historically for being the capital of the Italian Social Republic led by Mussolini, it is characterized by the presence of a number of buildings of great historical and artistic value as the Duomo of Santa Maria Annunziata and Palace of the Podestà. Also known as the “capital of Lake Garda”, offers the possibility of boat trips, exploring the stunning scenery of the place, or spend a relaxing day at the beach.

Near from salò we find another important place: Gardone riviera. Here you can admire beautiful historical palace alternating with parks and gardens, in an unique historical-natural match in the Italian panorama. Visit the famous “Vittoriale degli italiani”, the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio House Citadel, with its beautiful gardens, and the Hruska botanical gardens.
San Felice del Benaco: history and art on Lake Garda
Another place of interest is the town of San Felice del Benaco. inhabited since prehistoric times, who later became a Roman settlement, the land preserves the remains of an ancient castle in the historic centre. Of historical interest are the elegant buildings, dating from the X century, including the palazzo Rotingo, site of the current Town Hall, and the Baroque parish church. From the port of San Felice is possible to reach by sea the “Isola of Garda”: an island rich in stories and legends, characterized by the presence of a building which stands surrounded by unspoiled nature.

Finally we have Padenghe sul Garda: a town that was an important port area in roman times. It is dominated by a castle dating back to the 10th century, from which you can enjoy an impressive view, with Sirmione in the foreground. from the castle you can run a walk in nature, until you reach the Drugolo castle.
