Discover the charms of Lake Garda

Visit the amazing Lake Garda

Lake Garda offers its visitor wonderful and unique places, with an extraordinary history. Our Camping delle Rose in Moniga del Garda is located in a perfect position to see them all: discover the lovely Sirmione and its historical castle, the breathtaking view from the Monte Baldo, the Desenzano nightlife, the amusement park Gardaland or Verona and its incredible Arena.

Sirmione

The city of Sirmione is situated on a picturesque tongue of land in the southern part of Garda Lake. The main historical place of Sirmione is the so-called “Grottoes of Catullus” (Grotte di Catullo), the most striking example of a Roman private edifice discovered in northern Italy. Sirmione is also famous for its thermal springs, the so-called “Terme di Sirmione”. We also suggest our guests to visit the Scaliger Castle (13th century), which is a rare example of medieval port fortification. Sirmione is also well-known for its “Gelaterie”, where you can enjoy a fresh home-made Italian gelato (highly recommended in summer season!). Sirmione is only 25 minutes away from the Camping delle Rose in Moniga del Garda.

Gardaland

The largest amusement park in Italy is situated between Lazise and Peschiera. This is the perfect place for those who love adventures. This astonishing amusement park covers an area of 445,000 m2 (4,789,940 sq ft) and offers both traditional attractions and entertainment shows. Gardaland attracts nearly 3 million visitors every year. Every evening there is a colourful light festival and laser show. Gardaland is only 30 minutes away from the Camping delle Rose in Moniga del Garda and we definitely suggest all our guests to visit it!

Desenzano

Desenzano is the largest town on Lake Garda with about 20.000 inhabitants and is considered a popular holiday destination. Desenzano is the heart of nightlife on the southern shore of Lake Garda, with several discos and pubs. In the summer, its main squares, Piazza Malvezzi and Piazza Matteotti, are crowded all night with young and partying people because of its numerous cafès, gelaterie (where you can enjoy an Italian gelato) and bars. The cathedral of “Santa Maria Maddalena” is impressive because of Giambattista Tiepolo’s painting “The Last Supper”, and nearby the church are the ruins of an old Roman villa. Desenzano in only 13 minutes away from the Camping delle Rose in Moniga del Garda.

Monte Baldo

Whoever climbs Monte Baldo, isn’t dealing whit one mountain, but with a mountain massif of a height up to 2,218 meters, which stretches along the eastern shore of Lake Garda for over 35 kilometers. One can easily reach the “Garden of Italy” with the cableway, where hikers, climbers, skydiver and bikers meet in summer, and where skiers make their curves on the slopes in winter. On a clear day it is possible to enjoy the wonderful view that faces the glaciers of the Brenta Group and the western shore. Monte Baldo is 1 hour and 15 minutes away from the Camping delle Rose in Moniga del Garda.

Verona

A trip to one of most beautiful towns in Italy is not far from Lake Garda. Verona’s old town is elegantly encircled by the River Adige. Verona is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy, because of its artistic heritage, shows, and operas, such as the lyrical season in the Arena di Verona, the ancient amphitheatre built by the Romans. In the Arena di Verona is possible to attend to one of the most famous Shakespeare’s plays such as Romeo and Juliet, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, and The Taming of the Shrew. Furthermore, because of the value and importance of Verona’s many historical buildings (Verona preserved many ancient Roman monuments), the city has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Verona is 40 minutes away from the Camping delle Rose in Moniga del Garda.
